Dr. Abdul Mohsen bin Tamma Al-Aslami has published a book titled “Sheikh Ismail bin Mubayrik: Pages from His Positions and Leadership Roles during the Period 1343–1375 AH,” which addresses the personality of Sheikh Ismail bin Mubayrik, the Amir of Rabigh, and highlights his administrative, security, and social roles during an important phase in the history of the Saudi state, spanning from the annexation of Hijaz by King Abdulaziz in 1343 AH until the death of bin Mubayrik in 1375 AH.

The book reviews the trust and status that the Amir of Rabigh enjoyed with King Abdulaziz, along with the related positions during the siege of Jeddah. It also discusses his role in introducing tribal leaders to the king, contributing to the handover of the valleys, districts, and villages surrounding Rabigh and Jeddah.

The book sheds light on the role of Rabigh during that historical period, when it became a launch point for Saudi expeditions to the areas located between it and Medina. It also reviews the key tasks assigned to Sheikh Ismail and Sheikh Ali Al-Amari, including the arrangements for the Hajj of 1343 AH, organizing the arrival of pilgrims through the port of Rabigh, securing them, providing transportation and accommodation, and ensuring their safety.

The book presents documentary texts and examples that illustrate how bin Mubayrik managed the villages and valleys belonging to the Emirate of Rabigh, the mechanism for conveying leadership directives to tribal chiefs, and overseeing security in those areas.

It also includes documentary and historical texts, eyewitness accounts of events from that period, as well as news of King Abdulaziz’s visits to Rabigh and his reception by Sheikh Ismail, followed by his reception of King Saud in 1375 AH, the year in which bin Mubayrik passed away.
