يشارك المنتخب السعودي للفلك والفيزياء الفلكية في النسخة الـ19 من أولمبياد الفلك والفيزياء الفلكية الدولي (IOAA 2026)، الذي تستضيفه هانوي الفيتنامية خلال الفترة من 25 سبتمبر إلى 5 أكتوبر، بمشاركة طلبة من أكثر من 60 دولة.
ويُمثّل المملكة 5 طلبة، تلقوا تأهيلاً مكثفاً عبر برامج ومعسكرات تدريبية نفذتها مؤسسة الملك عبدالعزيز ورجاله للموهبة والإبداع (موهبة)، بالشراكة مع وزارة التعليم، وبرعاية «تطوير التعليم القابضة».
ويضم المنتخب فاطمة نزيه داملاخان، وهشام أيمن رفيق، وعمر خالد الشهري، وإيلين هاني أزهري، ومرام عبدالعزيز البراك.
ويمر تأهيل الطلبة عبر أولمبياد الموهبة الوطني (نسمو)، ثم مسار الفيزياء في برنامج موهبة للأولمبيادات الدولية، وملتقيات تدريبية تمتد من عامين إلى ثلاثة أعوام، وصولاً إلى اختبارات الترشيح واختيار أفضل 5 طلبة.
وبدأت المملكة مشاركتها عام 2024، وحققت خلال مشاركتيها السابقتين 6 جوائز دولية، شملت فضية، و3 برونزيات، وشهادتي تقدير. ويختبر الأولمبياد المهارات النظرية والعملية في علم الفلك، بما يشمل رصد الأجرام، وتحليل البيانات، وبرامج المحاكاة.
The Saudi team for astronomy and astrophysics is participating in the 19th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2026), which is hosted by Hanoi, Vietnam, from September 25 to October 5, with students from more than 60 countries participating.
The Kingdom is represented by 5 students who have received intensive training through programs and training camps implemented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and under the sponsorship of “Taqdeer Education Holding.”
The team includes Fatima Nazih Damlakhani, Hisham Ayman Rafiq, Omar Khalid Al-Shahri, Eileen Hani Azhari, and Maram Abdulaziz Al-Barak.
The students’ training goes through the National Talent Olympiad (Nasmo), then the physics track in the Mawhiba program for international Olympiads, and training meetings that extend from two to three years, leading up to the nomination tests and the selection of the best 5 students.
The Kingdom began its participation in 2024 and has achieved 6 international awards during its previous participations, including one silver, three bronze, and two certificates of appreciation. The Olympiad tests theoretical and practical skills in astronomy, including the observation of celestial bodies, data analysis, and simulation programs.
