The Emir of the Medina region, Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, confirmed that the teacher represents a fundamental axis in the educational process, and that their competence and ability to develop the knowledge and skills of students reflect on the quality of educational outcomes and the preparation of national competencies.
This came during his sponsorship of the “Medina Community Award for Distinguished Teachers” in its second edition, organized by the Medina Award Foundation.
Prince Salman bin Sultan pointed out that the development of human capabilities is one of the targets of Saudi Vision 2030, congratulating the winning teachers and appreciating the efforts of all teachers in fulfilling their educational and pedagogical mission.
During the ceremony, attendees watched a documentary film titled “A Lasting Impact” about the Teacher Award, followed by a speech on behalf of the people of Medina by Sheikh Saleh bin Awad Al-Mughamsi, who affirmed that the people of Medina have been known since the days of Aws and Khazraj for their generosity and loyalty, and that this celebration is a testament to the appreciation the Medina community holds for teachers and their status and impact.
He said: “It is a great honor to stand on the podium speaking about the message of the teacher and their status, and they have only to rely on the words of Allah Almighty: ﴿And whatever good they do will not be denied them; and Allah is Knowing of the righteous﴾.”
Sheikh Al-Mughamsi explained that one of the greatest doors of goodness is for the teacher to educate the sons and daughters of Muslims, guiding them to what benefits them and helping them serve themselves, their community, and their nation, citing the words of the Prophet ﷺ: “Indeed, Allah and His angels and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even the ant in its hole, and even the whale, send blessings upon the one who teaches people good.”
He pointed out that there is no leader or pioneer, or anyone else, who has not passed through a stage in their life with a teacher who guided, advised, refined, and taught them, leading them to goodness, emphasizing that every individual in society, regardless of their position, is a fruit of a teacher who had an impact on their journey.
Sheikh Al-Mughamsi mentioned that the honoring of teachers, which is embraced by the people of Medina and crowned by the presence and honor of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Medina region, embodies the loyalty of the Medina community to the teacher and affirms its commitment to its original legacy of generosity, loyalty, and appreciation for those of virtue.
The ceremony witnessed the poet Marwan Al-Muzaini reciting a poem titled “The Board and the Chalk,” celebrating the teacher and their message in its verses, recalling the first tools of education as evidence of their enduring impact in the creation of knowledge and the building of generations.
Following that, the Emir of the Medina region honored the winning teachers of the Medina Community Award for Distinguished Teachers in its second edition, and he also honored the partners and sponsors of the award.
