أعلن الملياردير الأمريكي إيلون ماسك أن نموذج الذكاء الاصطناعي «غروك إيماجين» التابع لشركة xAI سيُنتج فيلماً روائياً طويلاً مستوحى من ملحمة «الأوديسة» الشهيرة، على أن يُعرض قبل نهاية عام 2026.
وقال ماسك، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة xAI، في منشور عبر منصة «إكس»، إن الفيلم سيكون «دقيقاً تاريخياً ومخلصاً لعمل هوميروس»، كاشفاً نشر مقطع تشويقي قصير للعمل على المنصة.
ويمثل المشروع خطوة جديدة في سباق الذكاء الاصطناعي نحو دخول صناعة السينما، بعدما اقتصرت أغلب التجارب السابقة على إنتاج صور ومقاطع فيديو قصيرة. ويثير الإعلان تساؤلات حول قدرة النماذج الحديثة على إنتاج فيلم طويل متكامل يجمع بين الحبكة والشخصيات والمشاهد والمؤثرات البصرية.

وتُعد «الأوديسة» واحدة من أشهر الملاحم الإغريقية المنسوبة إلى الشاعر هوميروس، وتروي رحلة أوديسيوس، ملك إيثاكا، في طريق عودته إلى وطنه بعد حرب طروادة. وخلال الرحلة التي امتدت سنوات، يواجه البطل عواصف ومخاطر ومخلوقات أسطورية وتحديات مرتبطة بالآلهة، قبل أن يسعى إلى العودة لزوجته بينيلوبي واستعادة حياته ومملكته.
وبينما يراهن كريستوفر نولان على إمكانات الإنتاج السينمائي الضخم، يبدو أن إيلون ماسك يسعى إلى تقديم نسخة منافسة تعتمد على الذكاء الاصطناعي، في تجربة قد تكون اختباراً مهماً لقدرة التكنولوجيا على الانتقال من إنتاج المحتوى القصير إلى صناعة أفلام روائية كاملة.

American billionaire Elon Musk announced that the AI model “Grok Imagine” from xAI will produce a feature film inspired by the famous epic “The Odyssey,” set to be released before the end of 2026.
Musk, the CEO of xAI, stated in a post on the “X” platform that the film will be “historically accurate and faithful to Homer’s work,” revealing that a short teaser for the project has been published on the platform.
This project represents a new step in the AI race to enter the film industry, as most previous experiments have been limited to producing images and short videos. The announcement raises questions about the ability of modern models to produce a complete feature film that combines plot, characters, scenes, and visual effects.
Musk’s announcement coincides with a renewed global interest in the epic “The Odyssey,” amid the release of a new film of the same name directed by Christopher Nolan, featuring a star-studded cast, alongside a wide discussion about the artistic treatment of the work and the extent of adherence to historical details, as well as debates regarding the casting choices.
“The Odyssey” is considered one of the most famous Greek epics attributed to the poet Homer, narrating the journey of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, on his way back home after the Trojan War. During the years-long journey, the hero faces storms, dangers, mythical creatures, and challenges related to the gods, before seeking to return to his wife Penelope and reclaim his life and kingdom.
While Christopher Nolan bets on the potential of large-scale film production, it seems that Elon Musk aims to present a competing version based on artificial intelligence, in an experiment that could be an important test of the technology’s ability to transition from producing short content to creating complete feature films.
If the project succeeds in appearing before the end of 2026, “The Odyssey” could become one of the most prominent testing grounds for the future of the film industry, between a traditional Hollywood model led by a global director and a new experience driven by artificial intelligence under the supervision of one of the leading technology companies in the world.
