تشهد جدة التاريخية خلال شهر رمضان أجواءً روحانية واجتماعية مميزة، حيث تتجدد مظاهر التراث الحجازي في الأزقة القديمة والبيوت العتيقة، مستحضرةً ملامح الماضي بروح الحاضر، وسط إقبال الأهالي والزوار للاستمتاع بالتجربة الرمضانية الفريدة.
ويستعيد سكان المنطقة ذكريات استقبال الشهر الفضيل قديماً، حين كانت المنازل تتزين بالفوانيس، ويعلن مدفع رمضان دخول الشهر، فيما يجتمع الأهالي في الحارات لتبادل التهاني وتبادل الأطباق بين الجيران فيما يعرف بـ«الطُّعمة»، في صورة تعكس روح التآلف والتراحم بين سكان الحي.
كما يحضر «المسحراتي» كأحد الرموز الرمضانية التقليدية، إذ كان يجوب الحارات قبيل الفجر قارعاً طبلته ومنادياً للسحور، بينما تنتشر البسطات الشعبية التي تقدم أكلات حجازية معروفة مثل البليلة والكبدة.
وتتواصل بعد صلاة التراويح الأنشطة الاجتماعية والألعاب الشعبية في الساحات والأزقة، في وقت تحتضن فيه المنطقة فعاليات ثقافية وتراثية وورشاً للحرف اليدوية وأنشطة للعائلات، بما يعزز ارتباط الأجيال الجديدة بموروثها الثقافي.
The historic city of Jeddah witnesses unique spiritual and social atmospheres during the month of Ramadan, as the manifestations of Hijazi heritage are revived in the old alleys and ancient houses, bringing the features of the past to life with the spirit of the present, amidst the enthusiasm of locals and visitors to enjoy the unique Ramadan experience.
The residents of the area recall memories of welcoming the holy month in the past, when homes were adorned with lanterns, and the Ramadan cannon announced the arrival of the month, while families gathered in the neighborhoods to exchange greetings and share dishes among neighbors in what is known as “Al-Tu’ma,” reflecting the spirit of harmony and compassion among the residents of the neighborhood.
The “Musaharati” also makes an appearance as one of the traditional Ramadan symbols, as he roams the streets before dawn, beating his drum and calling for Suhoor, while popular stalls offering well-known Hijazi dishes such as Balila and liver are spread throughout the area.
After the Taraweeh prayers, social activities and traditional games continue in the squares and alleys, while the area hosts cultural and heritage events, workshops for handicrafts, and activities for families, enhancing the connection of new generations to their cultural heritage.
